I rate hotels based on how well my night goes and it went great here. First I'll get out the things that would be considered negative to some. The room did not have an alarm clock or high speed internet, and there was no free breakfast. On the plus side, it did have a microwave, fridge, television, and extra fold out bed. For those earth conscious consumers, the soap and shampoo were in full size bottles instead of the single serving size. Staff was also very friendly and had the same sort of guest book you would see in a bed & breakfast. The real plus, though, was that I slept wonderfully. My usual hotel experience of being awoken early by a shower going in the room next to mine or an uncomfortable bed didn't happen here. It was well worth the $71 for the two of us. The room I stayed in had a clean, cozy cottage feel to it without feeling cramped.
If you're checking out the website, be aware that currently (Nov. 12, 2007) new owners have taken over and the website is outdated. I talked to the owners who recently bought the place, and they're working on remodeling so my review may be outdated shortly too. They said they plan on having themed rooms and the amenities that you'd expect in the high priced chain hotels.
My husband and I recently stayed at The Pine Glo Motel and had a wonderful experience...The owners were very helpfull with local information as we were from out of state...We love to patronize the mom and pop business like this one...So friendly, and the rooms are very neat and clean, which means alot when traveling...When ever we are in the Eagle River again we will be staying at The Pine Glo Motel for sure....The Smith's...
